It's a glorious day on Broadway, as acting legend Jessica Lange has finally been awarded a Tony, her first, for her portrayal of Mary Tyrone in Long Day's Journey Into Night.
Lange has stated on several occasions that she considers Mary to be her favorite part of her long career. With the screen queen having previously tackled the role in London's West End back in 2000, her friend and American Horror Story boss Ryan Murphy gave her the opportunity to reprise the role this year for the Broadway revival.

Lange can now add a Tony to her overflowing catalogue of awards. She is a celebrated actress and her award collection proves it.

Lange looked thrilled to be awarded the Tony, perhaps even more so than any of her previous Emmys or Oscars, because she loved this role so much. The Tony Award is an acknowledgement of Lange's accomplishment not only in this role, but in the industry as a whole, as she is one of the few actors to have been awarded a Tony, Oscars, Emmys, Golden Globes and a SAG Award among others.
Although many were disappointed that she opted not to return to American Horror Story for its next season, she can soon be seen on screen playing screen legend Joan Crawford in Feud, an upcoming anthology series also created by American Horror Story's Murphy.
Congratulations, Jessica Lange! Nobody deserves it more than you. All hail the one true Supreme!
