We are a couple of months away from DC's next big movie, Suicide Squad, and with that the marketing begins. There have been many trailers and TV spots showcasing the characters, but they have done a great job keeping everything else under wraps. However, this means whenever we see something new based on the movie we immediately go crazy with hype. And this is very much the case with the latest marketing development: the release of images of the Suicide Squad figurines.
The figurines are not yet out, but seeing as we now have images and the movie is a couple months away, we should see them on the market soon. There are four main ones but I'm pretty sure the rest of the members will arrive soon as well. The four figures we see are Batman, Harley Quinn, Deadshot, and of course the Joker. One thing to note is the new images plastered on the boxes for each of the characters.
We have already seen these characters in the trailers, but seeing a couple of different shots of them is definitely something to be excited about. The Joker one is of course seen holding a gun that looks very Joker-ish, while sporting a very flashy suit. Deadshot and Harley Quinn's images are similar to what we have already seen from both in other promotional material. It should also be noted that each of the characters comes with a piece to complete another character, which I believe is Killer Croc. The figures also come with accessories for each of the characters and both Deadshot's and Batman's come with interchangeable heads. I would like to also add that Batman's figurine was the one that caught my attention the most.
In the trailers, we do see Batman dive in some water to save someone, possibly Harley Quinn. We do notice he is wearing some type of oxygen mask right before he dives in, but we never get a good look at it. It seems, however, that now we finally have a good look at it and it looks absolutely amazing. We still don't know how big of a part Batman will have in the movie, but his figurine is cool nonetheless!
I know it shouldn't be a big deal to see a couple of new images, but the hype for this movie is insane. In the meantime, all we have to warm us over till the release are the trailers and TV spots that we have so far, in addition to the recently released soundtrack listing. I'll provide the latest TV spot below for your viewing pleasure:
