A few years ago, it would have been hard to imagine pop star Gwen Stefani and country star Blake Shelton working together as a happy couple, but since meeting on the set of The Voice, the two singers have come to define #relationshipgoals with their adorable presence on social media.
Gwen kick-started the festivities for Blake's 40th birthday on Saturday with a throwback photo of Shelton as a child, complete with bizarre emojis and the hashtag #superbabe. Not entirely sure why Gwen thought a cow, a bee and a sunflower would be festive choices to caption the picture with, but it's "her life, don't you forget."
Next, she decorated the couple's private jet with Shelfani-themed wine glasses and streamers before topping it all off with a cake shaped like a guitar, because, you know, he plays one.
After they landed, Blake celebrated the big 4-0 with a concert in Colorado, where he performed a number of his biggest hits throughout the two hour set, including "Honey Bee,” “Austin” and “Sangria", before Gwen joined him on stage to perform their duet "Go Ahead and Break My Heart”.
That wasn't all though. Blake had a special birthday wish that he decided to share with the crowd:
“This is fun! Y’all have been so freakin’ nice to me on my 40th birthday and I guess if I had one birthday wish for me personally … I wish I could rock. I wish I was one of those type of artists that could rock but I can’t. For my birthday I wish I could hear an artist who could rock, that’s my birthday wish.”
Loving girlfriend Gwen immediately obliged with a "Hella Good" performance of No Doubt's classic hit, errrr, "Hella Good." Before she left the stage, Stefani couldn't help herself and gave Blake a birthday kiss that neither he or the crowd will forget anytime soon.
Afterwards, an extremely happy and out of breath Blake asked the crowd;
“What just happened?! I don’t know how I’m going to follow that.”
We're not sure either Blake, but we'll try by reminding ourselves of this stunning duet between you and Gwen on the Honda Stage at the iHeartRadio Theater, LA. Go on. Click play. "What You Waiting For?"
Screw the haters who think their relationship isn't real!
