Daario Naharis and Jorah Mormont might be brave warriors and fiercely loyal, but neither of them are really in the same league as the Mother of Dragons. Enter Yara Greyjoy. When Yara's sexuality was revealed in a raunchy scene with a Volantis prostitute, we'd all been wondering what would happen when the future first Queen of the Iron Islands met the dragon queen face to face. People were shipping these two pretty hard before they even met:
Now that they finally interacted in person in Episode 9, we were not disappointed. Sparks were FLYING!
Let's just watch the whole scintillating scene again:
Unlike the Stark storyline from this week, in which Sansa gets ignored during Jon Snow's strategy meeting, yelled at for being pragmatic, and underestimated until the very moment she saved the day, the men in this scene are easily overshadowed by both the dialogue and the subtext happening between Daenerys and Yara. Yara's bluntness is just as effective in the throne room as it is in a brothel.
Of course, she steals the scene entirely with a single line. Daenerys asks if Yara's offer is free of marriage demands, and Yara replies:
"I never demand, but I'm up for anything really."
All those flying sparks ignited a Wildfyre in the Twitterverse of GoT fans shipping the dream queens as a couple:
Now that it looks like the Greyjoys will be hanging out in Meereen, there will be ample opportunity to see if this flirtation develops into something more. While neither of these powerful women have marriage on the brain at the moment, that doesn't mean they won't be up for, well, anything, really. ;)
Let's hope they manage to fit in at least one more Yara and Dany scene in the Season 6 finale on Sunday!
