In an already exceptional season, Sunday night's “Battle of the Bastards” was easily one of the most intense and gripping episodes in Game of Thrones history. But sadly, like all good things in this world, Season 6 must still come to an end after this week.

However, before it leaves us for another year, Game of Thrones has more episodes to shock and titillate us with, and with a runtime of 69 minutes, the season finale will be the longest yet. If you haven't already, check out trailer for Season 6, Episode 10, “The Winds of Winter” below:

Today, HBO released new stills from the final episode of Game of Thrones, and there aren't a ton of smiles going around Westeros.

Ser Davos Seaworth

Ser Davos is looking very stern, as per usual, within what I can only imagine are the castle walls of Winterfell.

Loras Tyrell And The High Sparrow

Loras will finally have his long-awaited day in court where he faces the High Sparrow. If we're lucky, maybe there will be some more heads being ripped off at the meaty hands of The Mountain. Hopefully not Loras's pretty noggin.

Daenerys Targaryen And Tyrion Lannister

Tyrion may have had a few missteps as Daenerys's political counsel, but she still trusts him. In this picture, it appears that all is truly forgiven following the Meereen hiccup, and they are keen to start planning their next step toward the Iron Throne.

Bran Stark

Having recently joined forces with his long-lost uncle Benjen Stark, it's now up to Bran to become the Three-Eyed Raven and save the realm of men from the White Walkers. A pretty tall order from one of the youngest Starks.

Jaime Lannister And Bronn

After their victory at Riverrun, the Freys and Lannisters once again hold control of the former seat of House Tully. But before Jaime returns to his beloved Cersei at King's Landing, he has another job to do.

Jaime And Walder Frey

As the repercussions of the Red Wedding are potentially coming back to haunt the Lannisters and the Freys, it's only fitting that the eldest men of the two Houses convene to strategize.

The final episode of Game of Thrones Season 6 "The Winds of Winter” will air on HBO this Sunday.
