All Aboard The (Literal) Hype Train!

Ever since Marvel announced that they had received the film rights for Ghost Rider, fans have been patiently waiting for the character to receive his own Netflix series. It looks like Marvel may be throwing a curveball and debuting Ghost Rider on Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D!

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. posted the following image of a train on their official twitter account, prompting many to believe that Ghost Rider will be joining the MCU.

Now many are debunking the theory that Ghost Rider will be coming to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. by linking the flaming chain to Hellfire, the inhuman who appeared on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. last season.

While that is the most likely theory of the flaming chain designed train, could it lead to something more? What a lot of people don't know is that Hellfire is the grandson of the original Ghost Rider, Carter Slade, now known as the Phantom Rider. This makes the hyping of Hellfire's chain even more suspicious, and I believe Marvel is hinting at a surprise announcement at Comic-Con.

Hellfire will become the MCU Ghost Rider

They would not tease a flaming chain simply to just promote a lesser-known inhuman over a series regular, Marvel knows better than to tick off their fans that way. Hellfire's introduction, his connection to Carter Slade and the flaming chain are all hints that Ghost Rider will be joining the MCU through Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

I don't want to start a hype train that may end in despair and a flame war in my comment section, but why else would Marvel market Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. in this way?

On a side note, it's interesting to note that Hellfire dated Daisy Johnson during a previous comic book run of Secret Warriors. With both her romantic interests dead, could we be seeing Daisy spark a romance with Hellfire?

Do you think Ghost Rider will join Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D?
