Is there a single movie currently in production that Dwayne Johnson isn't working on?
Somehow finding time between Fast 8, Sony's Jumanji reboot, starring in Baywatch alongside Zac Efron and an upcoming Bourne spin-off, the 44-year-old ex-WWE wrestler has confirmed he will also be producing an adaptation of contemporary kung-fu story, Son of Shaolin.
According to Variety, Sony Pictures acquired the feature pitch, which is based on the upcoming graphic novel of the same name, written by Jay Longino. While details of the plot are still pretty light, it's suggested that the narrative will somehow intertwine Shaolin mythology with modern-day teenage angst.
Johnson and his Seven Bucks Productions will be producing alongside Logino, who previously worked on Renny Harlin's Skiptrace.
And, if you were worried about waiting until 2017 to catch a load of the Rock in action, fear not. He'll also star in Disney's Moana as the voice of Maui, which will shimmy into theaters this November. Check out the trailer below:
