Fans are speculating that the image has satanic qualities; they can see a "6" and an "a" to hold some kind of meaning. There are also remarks of a question mark that completes the six and for it to hold some kind of significance to the amount of work that's gone into Season 6.
Whether these theories are true or not, it's pretty obvious the creators are really keeping Season 6 tightly under wraps. But why?
Here's some of what we know so far:
Jessica Lange Won't Be Returning
After missing her powerful presence in the show's fifth season — American Horror Story: Hotel — Jessica Lange has confirmed that she won't be returning to the show.
This news has been around for a few weeks now, and I'm still feeling sensitive about it.
There Will Be Some Familiar Faces
We may have lost the queen bitch, Lange, but as it stands Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Sarah Paulson, Finn Wittrock, Denis O'Hare, Cheyenne Jackson, Matt Bomer and Wes Bentley will be apart of the mysterious Season 6.
It's also been stated that Gaga's musical talents will be key.
It Will Be Released In September
Like the other seasons of the show, we can expect AHS: 6 to reach our screens some time in September his year.
I'm counting down the days.
Season 1 Holds The Key
Creator Ryan Murphy has stated that the clue for Season 6 in is Season 1: American Horror Story: Murder House and was actually the original idea for the season's premiere.
Fingers crossed it's better than Hotel, as it's had quite some time in the works
Season 6 Will Be Set In The Present
Murphy has said Season 6 will be set in the present timeline though it is also expected to run in a dual timeline where some scenes will revisit the past. Interesting.
Season 6 Will Be More 'Rogue And Dark' Than Before
Murphy's stated: "If the viewers have already been terrified by the contents of the show so far, they can expect more gut-wrenching scenes and twisted storylines next season." He's also hinted at the use the horror trope of innocent children. So we're probably looking at more creepy children, like those in Hotel.
Perhaps the theories of Satan and hell aren't so far off the mark? Only time will tell
What do you think might be Season 6's theme?
