One of the greatest things about watching the X-Men movies is thinking to yourself (or ranting to your friends) which of the mutant powers you'd like to have. Imagine what an illustrious career in crime prevention you could have with Xavier's powers, or how much stuff you could steal if you moved like Quicksilver (with all proceeds from your ill-gotten gains going to the poor, of course).

Cyclops: not the most convenient powers.
Cyclops: not the most convenient powers.

As far as powers go, not many fans would choose to have Cyclops's powers. Like Rogue's, Cyclops's powers are fairly inconvenient as they can't be turned off: Scott Summers will have to wear special glasses for the rest of his life to prevent his laser eyeballs burning everyone he loves to death. Still, they look pretty damn cool!

Check out one talented fan who's made real-life "Cyclops Specs"!

If you're curious as to how to glasses function, creator Sufficiently Advanced mentions a few vital components:

The peristaltic pump from a Nerf Thunderstorm. Probably the nicest little pump I could find that happened to be Methanol resistant.

[The fuel is] 40% acetone with 60% methanol, and about 3g Strontium Chloride per 100ml. In other shots it's red tikki torch fuel, which seems to burn just a bit redder, but is way more expensive.

Although this cool X-Men gadget looks totally awesome and makes you want to run around blasting things apart, it's definitely NOT a good idea to shoot flammable liquids out of homemade jets only a few inches from your eyes unless you are very, very certain of what you're doing.

Which X-Men gadget would you most like to own?
