It feels like we've been waiting forever, but the Batman v Superman Ultimate Edition has finally been released, opening the floodgates for fans to dissect all those juicy new Easter Eggs, not to mention examine the final lineup for the Justice League.

But it's not all about Dawn of Justice — in true DCEU fashion, the release of the Ultimate Edition also included some content to get us good and hyped for Suicide Squad, from new images of the Joker to cheeky nods toward a plot point in Task Force X's adventure.

And of course, we wouldn't be doing our jobs if we didn't analyze the heck out of all these new hints.

Joker's New Allegiance

This new picture of the Joker in Suicide Squad was released with the Batman v Superman Ultimate Edition, and it's really interesting. At first glance, it's just Joker opening an intriguing briefcase, but when we start to analyze the image, much more stands out.

Aggravatingly, that "behind the scenes" watermark is obscuring the most important part of the image — the insignia on that briefcase. We can just about make out "Van Criss," and that interesting triangle logo. Unfortunately, Van Criss is not a hero, villain, or organization in the DC Comics (that we can find), so we have to wonder if Suicide Squad will introduce a new villainous element to the DCEU.

Although we can't glean a huge amount from this image, this does actually tie in with a hint from producer Charles Roven back in late 2015.

"He’s more social… a very successful and smart businessman besides being a sociopath."
Joker is intrigued by whatever's in that briefcase.

This statement seems to suggest that, rather than being a lone maniac, the Joker of Suicide Squad is working with another party to achieve his dastardly aims. Each trailer has included snippets of scenes in which the Joker seems to be negotiating with someone, adding to the intrigue.

Put this together with that new image, and it looks like this group of people that Joker is working with might just be that mysterious "Van Criss." But what's in the case? We'll just have to wait to find that out!

Yet Another Ace Chemicals Hint

It's not just about the new images — the extra footage in the Ultimate Edition also included a shot of Ace Chemicals in Gotham City.

Ok, this one isn't exactly new — we already caught a glimpse of the Ace Chemicals building in an early trailer for Batman v Superman — which is to be expected, really. Ace Chemicals plays a huge role in the origin stories of both Joker and Harley Quinn, and thanks to the Blitz trailer we know that Suicide Squad will indeed revisit the site, showing how Harley became the villain we know and love.

And there you have it folks! That's it for the hints about Suicide Squad from the Batman v Superman Ultimate Edition. All we have to do now is wait for the movie to come out!

Who do you think Joker's working with in Suicide Squad?
