Today, it has a terrible reputation (at the time of publication, it has a 7% critic score and a 25% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes). But people may have forgotten that when it was first released, it was somewhat of a sleeper hit, and made over $100 million worldwide.

Since it turned a nice profit, of course we are getting another movie. But this one is directed by Mike Flanagan, who is known for directing indie horror hits Hush, Oculus, and Absentia. And it looks pretty different from the first one — partly because this is a prequel.
Ouija: Origin Of Evil
This movie is set in Los Angeles in 1965. It's about a mother and her two daughters who have a running scam to put on fake séances. But when they buy a Ouija board as an addition to their show, one of the girls gets possessed. The family then have to figure out how to rescue their daughter from the evil presence.
It is set to be released on October 21, just in time for Halloween.
