*The following contains HUGE spoilers for Season 3 of 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 3 ended with a bang. It killed off Daisy’s boyfriend Lincoln and the evil inhuman Hive while leaving us with massive cliffhangers. With Quake on the loose, a new S.H.I.E.L.D. director and a Ghost Rider coming to town, what exactly are we getting ourselves into in Season 4 of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.?

The New Secret Warriors: Daisy & Joey

The Inhuman situation is not over yet and it will probably be the case that we will be introduced to a few more. Lincoln’s death was a life changer for Chloe Bennet's Daisy Johnson and now that she’s gone rogue we might see her form a team of her own. In Season 3, she and Lincoln created the Secret Warriors, a group of Inhumans whose existence within S.H.I.E.L.D. was known only to the director. Slingshot and Joey Gutierrez were part of the team. While it’s improbable that Slingshot would break ties with S.H.I.E.L.D. due to her connection and possible romantic relationship in Season 4 with Mac, Joey Gutierrez is a possibility. We know he went back to Colombia before Hive’s infiltration of S.H.I.E.L.D., hence why he wasn't present during the final episodes of the season. Because he’s shown so much respect and loyalty to Daisy, he could be one who wouldn’t hesitate to join her new Secret Warriors.

Quakes All Around The Country

In the “6 Months Later” scene in the finale of Season 3, we see Phil Coulson’s new detective board. If you pause at second 0:08 on the video below you can vaguely read the columns of the newspapers.

When you full-screen your screen it becomes clearer to read and you can see that when Daisy took down a bank she didn’t actually assault or rob the bank. The column reads that people inside the bank heard gunshots and 10 minutes later when the police arrived, they found the bank demolished. Of course, Daisy would never kill a person with a gun; she wouldn’t kill innocent people in the first place. Clearly, she was saving the day — doing it in classic Quake style — the best way she knows how to do it.

If the bank was being robbed by crooks and they had guns, then we could also place Joey Gutierrez at the crime scene. With his powers to melt any metal, he could’ve been more than useful in stopping the robbery. Oddly, Daisy has been going all around the United States doing this, and she’s taking some of the leftover cash from the rubble too.

While that might have been only a one-time thing to help the homeless inhuman’s wife and daughter (Robin), she still needs to live day by day. While she might not be intentionally robbing the banks, she could be handling and interpreting that as payment for her services as a vigilante. Either way, what is her end game? Especially since the new S.H.I.E.L.D. director has made it top-on-the-list to bring her in. Here is where the new Ghost Rider could tie in.

Here Comes The Ghost Rider

Will we see Ghost Rider ride along with Daisy?
Will we see Ghost Rider ride along with Daisy?

With speculations hinting at Robbie Reyes being the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Ghost Rider, it might just be that he'll be in the center of the conflict between Daisy and S.H.I.E.L.D. Since we are dealing with mystical and other-worldly demonic powers, Ghost Rider could be the key to something S.H.I.E.L.D. can’t yet understand, maybe a villain from a different dimension (Mephisto?).

Since Robbie Reyes is of Hispanic descent then it could be possible that he might have some connection to either Slingshot or Joey Gutierrez, which would further support Joey’s involvement with Daisy. Robbie Reyes could be a friend of Joey Gutierrez and Slingshot. This could create a dilemma where he wouldn’t know who to side with, causing him to disappear. So…

Maybe that is why it’s so important to find Daisy, because by finding her they find Ghost Rider. It looks like Ghost Rider will be a major addition to the season, but it’s unlikely that he’ll be the dominant part of Season 4. Season 3’s finale also gave us a look at the LMDs. The Life Model Decoys will definitely be a very important aspect of the show this coming season, and I don’t doubt that we’ll see Luke Mitchell’s Lincoln Campbell back again as an android! His return would definitely shake things up for Quake. Could Ghost Rider be Daisy’s new love interest? I guess we will have to wait ‘til September comes.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Season 4 starts filming on July 12th. The season is set to premiere this September, airing from 10–11PM on ABC.
