The last time our childhood dreams were transcribed into a script and then evolved to a film, it came in the form of Pacific Rim. Giant robots versus giant monsters is one pitch that piqued everyone's curiosity, especially monster movie lovers like me.
Up until recently, there hasn't been much excellent news for the sequel. The movie was apparently pushed back and Guillermo del Toro left the helm, but didn't abandon ship (he is still attached as producer). But now things seem to be getting better, at least publicly, for this machine vs monster movie. For example, they have equipped Star Wars: The Force Awakens star John Boyega into their arsenal as actor and producer (he is heavily hinted to be the son of Stacker Pentecost). And Suicide Squad star Scott Eastwood is rumoured to be joining the cast.
So summon your patience and cage your hype because,
Pacific Rim: Maelstrom won't come out until February 23rd, 2018!
