We got our first look at Season 2 of Ash vs Evil back in March of Ash having the time of his life down in his own little paradise of Jacksonville, Florida. The first season did not end with the big hero saving the world from the ultimate evil. No, no, that would mean that Ash Williams is a hero that we would want to have as Earth's last hope. Nope, Season 1 ended with Ash accepting a deal that puts the whole battle against the Evil Dead on hold for his own lazy, selfish wants.
Warning: Spoilers ahead for the finale of Season 1 of Ash vs Evil Dead.
When faced against the actual creator of the Necronomicon, Ruby Knowby, she offers Ash a chance to finally be freed from the constant torture of fighting against the Evil Dead. She offers him a one-way dream vacation to Jacksonville, where he has always wanted to retire to. He happily takes the deal to release his responsibility of saving the world from being consumed by evil.
Now a brand new photo from the second season of Ash vs Evil Dead show the series' once main antagonist, Ruby, standing side-by-side with the main protagonists Ash, Kelly and Pablo. While this could be a simple picture showing the core cast of the show, it could also mean something deeper. This might mean that we could be seeing a somewhat shaky alliance between the once rivals.
The picture shows that Ruby, played by Lucy Lawless, has seen better days. Maybe her ultimate plan backfired on her and she requires the help of Ash and his team to restore balance. This can also be confirmed by a recent release of the Season 2 synopsis:
The second season roars back into action with Ash leaving his beloved Jacksonville and returning to his hometown of Elk Grove. There, he confronts Ruby. The former enemies have to form an uneasy alliance as Elk Grove soon becomes the nucleus of evil.
As for more confirmed Ash vs Evil Dead news, we know that Sam Raimi’s brother Ted will appear in the role of Ash’s childhood best friend Chet Kaminski with zero connection to his roles in the movies. TV screen legend Lee Majors will also play the unexpected role of Brock Williams, Ash’s father. Season 2 of Ash vs. Evil Dead premiers on September 23rd and hopefully all Evil Dead fans will tune in to watch.
Are you excited for Season 2 of Ash vs. Evil Dead? What do you hope to see in Ash's future adventures?
