Filming for the highly anticipated Marvel movie Thor: Ragnarok began yesterday and while we were unable to visit the set personally, everyone's favorite Asgardian gave us the next best thing.
On Wednesday, the real-life god that is Chris Hemsworth shared a clip of himself arriving at the Gold Coast Warner Bros. studio, posting a first glimpse of the set to his five million followers on Instagram.
Trading in his signature cape and hammer for a hoodie and protein shake, Hemsworth announces his arrival in the video, declaring:
"Here we are at the beginning of shooting for Thor 3 at the studios. Got my shake, got my shoes... and as requested, got the roller coaster - it's just some of the perks that come with being Thor."
As if playing a superhero wasn't awesome enough, Chris Hemsworth now gets to ride his very own personal rollercoaster between takes?
In reality, the rides seen in the background of the video are actually part of Warner Bros. Movie World, an amusement park close to the set, but if Hemsworth decides to rock up in his impressive Thor costume and demand free entry, we don't know how Warner Bros. could say no to that.
Hemsworth will certainly need the stress release though, as he seems to have misplaced his hammer on the first day of filming, a rookie mistake he draws attention to with the cheeky caption “#wheresmyhammer.”
Even Thunder Gods can make mistakes, it seems.
While our first glimpse onto the set of Thor: Ragnarok shows off Hemsworth's usual charm, the video offers little in the way of concrete information regarding the film itself.
Questions about Hulk's role in the movie, Jeff Goldblum's take on the Grandmaster and the final fate of our heroes are all still shrouded in mystery for the most part, but one thing we do know is that Tom Hiddleston's new flame Taylor Swift is probably gunning to write the official theme song as we speak.
Alongside man mountain Chris Hemsworth, Thor: Ragnarok will also star Mark Ruffalo, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Hopkins, Idris Elba, Cate Blanchett, Jeff Goldblum, Tessa Thompson, and Karl Urban. Meet the whole gang when the third Thor film hits cinemas on November 3rd, 2017.
In the meantime, watch as Marvel's best try to lift Thor's hammer in the funniest scene from Avengers: Age of Ultron. Seriously, how could Hemsworth lose something this heavy?
