Two years and one billion hits later, the little girl from Sia's enchanting music video for 'Chandelier' is all grown up and judging Fox's hit reality TV show So You Think You Can Dance! The now 13-year-old Maddie Ziegler started out on the 2011 show Dance Moms, which put her on the map aged only 8 years old.
It was here that she caught the eye of one of the most illusive names in music. Sia, known for her work on countless hits over the last few years, was about to release the first single to 2014's '100 Forms of Fear' and said it was a "dream to hire her" for the video.
When Ziegler was asked to star in the video, she told New York Magazine:
“I had no clue what I was getting into, I just knew some of her songs and I thought I was going to be, like, a background dancer with some other people. I thought I was going to be swinging from a chandelier.”
'Chandelier' became a mega success, raking in over a billion views and turning Ziegler into a superstar.
Well, since then Maddie's career has exploded. She starred in several more of Sia's music videos, including 'Big Girls Cry,' 'Cheap Thrills' and 'Elastic Heart,' co-starring Hollywood weirdo/genius Shia LaBeouf. But now she's finally hung up the iconic blonde wig and will be judging other dancing youngsters on the new season of So You Think You Can Dance... and she looks so grown up!
Gone is the scrawny kid racing around the abandoned house and in her place is a teen who we imagine will be on our radar for years to come! She's even gracing the cover of Seventeen this month.
At just 13, she's definitely on her way up as a reality TV star, but let's hope she won't be hanging up those ballet shoes any time soon.
