Power Ranger fans are awaiting next year's big screen reboot with baited breath, and today there is a little payoff. Lionsgate has released character posters highlighting each of the five new faces to sport those mighty morphin' helmets. Check them out:
The new Ranger posters show us Jason/Red Ranger (Dacre Montgomery), Trini/Yellow Ranger (Becky G), Billy/Blue Ranger (RJ Cyler), Kimberly/Pink Ranger (Naomi Scott), and Zack/Black Ranger (Ludi Lin). Each poster has a tint of the featured Ranger's signature color and has the recognizable thunderbolt logo that brings us back to the 90s.
The film is expected to maintain the original premise of the television show: An alien named Rita Repulsa attacks the Earth with an army of monsters. Zordon, an ancient enemy of Rita’s, aims to fight back. He chooses five ordinary teenagers to train as Power Rangers. The team is equipped with martial arts skills, futuristic technology, and combat suites. They also each have have a transforming sentient assault machine, called a Zord, to up the ante in battle.
The film's cast includes Elizabeth Banks as the antagonistic Rita Repulsa and Bryan Cranston as Zordon, the leader and mentor of the Power Rangers.
The Power Rangers movie opens in theaters on March 24, 2017.
