Teen Wolf fans can breathe a huge sigh of relief: Dylan O'Brien is officially returning for Teen Wolf Season 6 following a major injury on the set of the third Maze Runner film, The Death Cure. Dylan will be back and better than ever as Stiles Stilinski — which no doubt is the best news Teen Wolf fans have ever heard.

The injury was said to be mostly in his facial region, and caused 20th Century Fox to postpone filming indefinitely to allow Dylan to thoroughly heal and get some much needed rest.

Fans of Teen Wolf have been concerned that Dylan's injury would prevent him from returning to Teen Wolf and leave too many unanswered questions for his character for the season to work without him. Stiles is a fan-favorite, and losing him would have been devastating to the show.

Teen Wolf showrunner Jeff Davis promised lots of Stiles in Season 6, teasing some resolution to his almost-relationship with Lydia (together they form the beloved ship called Stydia) and more detail into his friendship with Scott. He told EW:

“Stiles is a big part of the season because a lot of this season’s mystery revolves around him. We’re going to see just what Stiles’ friendship means to Scott, Lydia, and Malia. We’re going to see why exactly he’s Scott’s best friend, what it means that he’s Malia’s human anchor, and what his will-they-or-won’t-they relationship is with Lydia.”

Okay, not going to lie, that last part about Stydia has me squealing. We've waited six season people! The photo released by EW of O'Brien is from the premiere of Teen Wolf Season 6, however it was taken before Dylan went to film Death Cure. Davis also notes the brace on his wrist will be explained in the first episode, and is not related to his Maze Runner accident. No word on Dylan's current status in healing with his injury, but it certainly is good to hear he won't be absent from what may be Teen Wolf's most important season yet.

Last season left Scott and Stiles relationship strained, but Tyler Posey assured EW that Scott and Stiles are still "very in love with each other.”

Sounds like things will be just as they should be — as long as Stiles and Lydia finally admit their feelings for each-other that is. Teen Wolf Season 6 will return in the fall on MTV. Can't wait, and get well soon Dylan!
