It is common knowledge that Thanos is now our big baddie in the Marvel Universe. I am so excited to see him more in action instead of just as a character in the background! We will get to see a lot of him in Marvel's new movie Avengers: Infinity War, which will be in two parts, the first coming out in 2018. The Infinity Stones have increasingly become a bigger part of the movies, and this is what Thanos has been after. He is what connects each of the movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe together.

He is a super powerful being, one of the more powerful Marvel villains. His look should reflect the real threat he represents.

We have seen Thanos a few times so far in the MCU. To be honest, I haven't been super impressed. His first appearance was here in The Avengers:

Granted, he still looks epic. However, is he as menacing as he needs to be? This was a very short cameo in the end credits scene, so not the best shot of Thanos.

Later, we get to see him again in Guardians of the Galaxy:

This is close to the look that we want. Menacing and stern eyes, and a powerful demeanor about him. Thanos was a great character in this movie, and we got to see a bit more of him. He's just a little too purple. Most of the characters in the movies look extremely realistic. The Hulk, who would have the same effects as Thanos, looks less "cartoony" than our friend here.

Finally, our most recent look at Thanos in the MCU was in The Avengers: Age of Ultron:

Less purple and a lot closer to being the titan I was looking for. Once again, just a brief look at our main villain. Watch the clip in full below:

So what is he going to look like in his main debut in Avengers: Infinity War?

Ironhead Studio may have just shown us. They have done work for Marvel in the past, including The Amazing Spider-Man, Thor, and Avengers: Age of Ultron. Here is what they recently posted on their Instagram:

Now that is the Thanos I have been looking for. That look just sends chills down my spine! A more realistic feel with the skin tones and added wrinkles. I love everything about this look!

So is this our new look? I think it is and I for one am extremely stoked. I am looking forward to seeing more of Thanos and his Infinity Gauntlet in Infinity War!

What about you?

Do you like Thanos's new look?
