Not only released the first official look at Justice League, Zack Snyder also released Comic-con exclusive trailer of Justice League, and it looks awesome!
From the looks of the trailer, Warner Brothers and DC comics seems hearing the complaints. They added fun vibe in it without losing the dark tone, especially with the addition of the Flash. Backlash from the previous installment seems to be a major decision for them to make this big change.
As stated a few months before from Jeremy Irons about this movie, and what's the differences with the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (BvS), he mentioned that the Justice League movie will be more linear and having a good narratives in building plot without any extra unnecessary sub-plot to intervene.
So, without further ado let's discuss this huge things! There are several interesting moments within this trailer,
1. Horror-Vibe Introduction To Aquaman
The trailer first scene introduce us to Jason Momoa's Aquaman character. The tempting and sorrow vibe is clearly filling this scene. While interestingly enough, this sorrow yet horror vibe will be elaborated more when his solo movie hits the theater in a couple years with the direction from James Wan, specialize in making a masterpiece horror movie.
The trailer was starting out right after the end of BvS, when Batman and Wonder Woman agreed to assemble a new team for defending the earth against a greater threat. Bruce recruiting Aquaman and Flash was the key-points in this trailer.
2. A Plot To Tie-in All Things: Mother-Box
As the trailer and the narrations goes, a glimpse of mother-box image revealed showing a hint for the movie plot. This image connecting the deleted scene from BvS when three mother-box in the hands of image of Steppenwolf, while Luthor being apprehended by the authorities. The three mother-box believed to be in the hands of Amazonians, Atlanteans and reside within STAR Labs.
The mother-box seems trigger Bruce and Diana to gather a team of metahumans to stand against the newly awakened threat. They recruiting people based on the data gathered by Lex Luthor back in BvS.
3. A Game-Changing Moment: Flash
While we feel the sorrow and horror vibe when we introduced to Aquaman, it is quite the opposite when we meet the Flash! With snarky dialogues and Ezra Miller's performance in this trailer, the newly fun and up beat vibe is really changing the game.
After introduce himself in Barry's appartment, Bruce quickly throw his batarang to Barry, and within a split of seconds, Barry tap into speed force and see the Bat-symbol in awe and quickly catch the batarang.
Barry agreed joining the team as Bruce proposed. Easily recruited, straight-forward. Without even asking any questions. This banter reminds of the Iron-Man and Spiderman conversation in Peter's house when Tony tries to recruit him. It was a joy to see this Bruce and Barry scene!
The scenes where Bruce recruiting all of these metahumans changing one by another, especially with Aquaman and Flash, as the trailer want to introduce these characters as the opposite of each others. Dark and horror vibe with Aquaman, and Fun, up beat and humor vibe with Flash.
4. The Costume Designs
All of the characters, minus Superman, seems to reveal their costumes and it quite an amusement for fans. Especially the new characters: Aquaman, Flash and Cyborg.
Let,s take a quick look at several characters with costumes below:
5. The Dark Humor
Batman, although having a dark tone a serious character, is well-known for his dark humor. By the end of the trailer, a banter between him and Aquaman is one of the examples. Furthermore, this Batman, is a newly reborn character after Superman sacrifices himself, and reside with the humanity again. Having said that, all the grim and depressed persona he had, removed, and he embraces the Batman that we all know, thus the dark humor is the implication. Can't wait the DCEU elaborate this side of Batman in the next installment.
Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
