Is this the new beginning Arrow fans have been waiting for?

Tonight at San Diego Comic-Con, The CW teased a sizzle reel of footage from Season 5, and while it's always a little dangerous to get too excited about Arrow, this really does look like the creative refresh this series needed. Check out the trailer below.

The action picks up not long after where the Season 4 left off — with Oliver Queen assembling a new team, honoring Laurel Lance's final wish in the process, to help protect Star City from the Damien Darhks of this world. That means Evelyn Sharp is back, joined by Wild Dog (quite easily the most badass alias name of any superhero on TV) and Kurtis Holt, as Oliver attempts to train the young additions to the team.

While Laurel looms large in Oliver's memory, we're treated to some pretty visually spectacular action sequences in both the present and the flashbacks (and yes, the flashbacks are here to stay, but if it's any consolation they actually appear to compliment the main story this time around). One thing we don't see much of here is new villain Tobias Church (Chad L. Coleman). Could he be the big bad to finally match up to the unparalleled Malcolm Merlyn? Time will tell.
