Seth Rogen takes on the role of a lifetime in Sausage Party, voicing an animated sausage on a quest to save himself and his friends from their ultimate fate — being eaten. Thankfully he isn't alone on the adventure, as he's joined by Michael Cera as a fellow sausage who doesn't want to die anytime soon.
Movie Pilot went live with Rogen and Cera, and to stick with the food theme we had the pair roast some of your favorite foods. While the duo let their insults fly free, we also got a look at how they've become such close friends over the years.
The pair's collaboration began nearly 10 years ago on the set of Superbad. As the production was prepping, Rogen, Cera, director Greg Mottola and the rest of the cast would meet up Rogen's place to hang out, read the script and get to know each other. Naturally, that included some drunken debauchery, and as Cera recalled:
"About this time 10 years ago we were getting ready to do [Superbad], which was a phase of getting to know each other, which was really fun. ... [We'd] do Edward Fortyhands with a big group of people."
In the end, it's clear that even if they're working on a silly animated movie, the guys want to make the funniest film possible. And reaching that goal is definitely helped by their genuine friendship. Check out the video above for the full story, and for a look at the pair's hilarious insults. And check out the exclusive clip below for a look at the movie.
