The time has come for Twins Day, the annual celebration of both fraternal and identical twins. The entertainment industry is certainly no stranger to twins, even capitalizing off of them for films and TV series, like The Parent Trap:
But there are some celebrities you may not have realized actually have twins. Let's take a look at some of the most famous celebrity twins, including some you may not have realized existed:
Scarlett & Hunter Johansson
The Avengers and Lucy star is actually the "older" twin to her brother Hunter Johansson, who she also appeared alongside with in the 1996 drama Manny & Lo. Hunter was also a campaign adviser for President Obama.
Ashton & Michael Kutcher
The story behind the That '70s Show star and his twin brother is both a sad and touching tale. Michael was born with a heart disease that made his and Ashton's life as children very stressful, the actor trying to keep busy so as to avoid any potentially bad news each day at home. Kutcher even stated in an interview with World Entertainment News Network that he contemplated suicide at the young age of 13 so that he could donate his heart to his brother. Thankfully, his father talked him out of it just in time, as a heart had just become available to transplant to Michael.
Vin Diesel & Paul Vincent
The xXx and Fast & Furious star and his fraternal twin brother both had their sights set on making it into the entertainment business, and both have. Paul Vincent is a film editor, and even helped Diesel on his breakout short film Multi-Facial, while Diesel has become one of the biggest action stars in Hollywood.
Jason & Jeremy London
The London twins were practically interchangeable during their rise to stardom, each hitting it big in the industry in the '90s. Jeremy made his breakout debut in the hit series I'll Fly Away, then followed that with Mallrats and Party of Five. While Jason never truly saw a big hit after his role in the classic Dazed and Confused, he still has appeared in a number of TV shows and films in smaller supporting roles.
Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen
Let's face it, if you don't know Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, you were either born in the last five years or have been living under a rock. The sororal twins made their acting debuts with the hit '80s sitcom Full House, and their careers exploded after that for nearly 20 years until they decided to switch over and focus on their fashion careers.
Tia & Tamera Mowry
Tia and Tamera were another power twin duo in the late '90s through mid '00s, making their acting breakthroughs with the hit sitcom Sister, Sister, in which they portrayed twin sisters separated at birth who are reunited accidentally. The twins became a smash for Disney, Sister, Sister going into syndication on the channel with a lot of views on their re-runs, as well as starring in some Disney Channel original movies, including the hit Twitches.
While the two are still very close personally, their careers went on mostly separate paths after college, but still reconnect occasionally for cameo appearances on each other's current shows.
Randy & Jason Sklar
Whether from their stand-up comedy, sports analyzing or acting careers, chances are you've seen the Sklar brothers together on screen multiple times. Randy and Jason Sklar got their acting start with the short-lived MTV sitcom Apt 2F, and have since gone on to appear in a number of hit movies and TV shows, including Children's Hospital, Entourage, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, @midnight, and Wild Hogs. The two also hosted an ESPN series, Cheap Seats, in which they played fictional ESPN tape librarians that view old game footage and add their own commentary to the footage.
Jon & Dan Heder
That's right, the Napoleon Dynamite star has an identical twin, Dan, and unless you know them personally, it might be difficult to separate the pair. While Dan has gone into the film industry as well, he's stayed behind-the-scenes, working on visual effects for 47 Ronin and Edge of Tomorrow, as well as animation for Monster House.
Luke & Harry Treadaway
The British acting duo have each made names for themselves as actors, with the slightly older twin Luke appearing in more stage productions than Harry, who's made a name for himself in the hit TV series Penny Dreadful as well as roles in the films Honeymoon and The Lone Ranger. Luke has also made appearances in the film world, appearing in Attack the Block, Unbroken and Clash of the Titans.
Shawn & Aaron Ashmore
The Ashmore twins are notable for not only for being hard to tell apart, but also for having their biggest roles be in a superhero franchise. Shawn made his big debut in X-Men as Bobby Drake/Iceman, and would go on to appear in the three direct sequels, as well as the TV series The Following. Aaron has appeared primarily in TV shows contrary to his brother, but his most famous role was as Jimmy Olsen on the hit CW series, Smallville.
