Out of the many live-action movie adaptations we hope to see made, one comes to mind with the speed of Piccolo's Special Beam Cannon: Dragon Ball Z. As in any other movie, one factor that can push it to success is its cast, so today we’ll be fan casting the perfect actors and actresses for our favorite Dragon Ball Z roles. Starting with…

Michael Fassbender As Vegeta

Recent Roles: Magneto (X-Men: Apocalypse), Steve Jobs (Steve Jobs)

To portray the prince of Saiyans, no one better comes to mind than Michael Fassbender. Fassbender has shown to have the sophistication and arrogance that has made Vegeta a fan favorite. After playing Magneto in X-Men: Apocalypse and starring in this December’s Assassin’s Creed, playing the title role, why not go to battle as Vegeta?

Edgar Ramirez As Goku

Recent Roles: Brodi (Point Break), Tony Miranne (Joy)

One of today’s rising actors, Edgar Ramirez has become one of my favorites, and I can definitely see him take on the role of Goku. His charisma and determination, as seen in characters like Brodi from Point Break and Tony from Joy, are perfect attributes for the Z warrior. If not Goku, then I can see Edgar Ramirez going deep in the role of adult Gohan or even Yamcha.

Jeremy Irons As Master Roshi

Recent Roles: Alfred (Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice), Avery Brundage (Race)

Jeremy Irons would be the perfect Master Roshi simply because he can do it all. He can carry the perfect combination of seriousness and humor that could bring the Master Roshi character to life. Plus, I would totally love to see Jeremy Irons do some ridiculous acrobatics on a turtle.

Oscar Isaac As Piccolo or Cell

Recent Roles: Poe (Star Wars: The Force Awakens), Apocalypse (X-Men: Apocalypse)

The man can portray anybody and do a great job, as was the case in X-Men: Apocalypse. His incredible portrayal of Apocalypse was mesmerizing, and I bet he could definitely do the same as Piccolo or Cell. He’s already donned blue makeup, now bring on the green!

Alicia Vikander As Android 18 or Bulma

Recent Roles: Heather Lee (Jason Bourne), Gerda Wegener (The Danish Girl)

We’ve already seen Alicia play an A.I. in Ex Machina, so she can definitely dominate the role of a killer android/cyborg. If not Android 18, then Bulma would be a perfect alternate role. Since VIkander is currently in a relationship with Michael Fassbender, then how amazing would that be, translated on screen with Vegeta and Bulma? (It would be beautiful; just watch the trailer for The Light Between Oceans.)

Sebastian Stan As Trunks

Recent Roles: Winter Soldier (Captain America: Civil War)

I can already picture Sebastian Stan as Trunks, slicing down Frieza! We’ve seen already how Stan can adapt to new circumstances each time he takes on the role of the Winter Soldier in the MCU, and being that Trunks has a similar attitude to the Winter Soldier, the actor is the perfect choice for the role.

BD Wong As Krillin or Super Majin Buu

Recent Roles: Henry Wu (Jurassic World), Hugo Strange (Gotham Season 2)

Perfect for the role of the Z warrior Krillin or the evil villain Buu is definitely BD Wong. He’s shown to perfectly portray both a good guy and an evil counterpart, at times almost balancing the two out in one character, like in his portrayal of Hugo Strange in Gotham.

Tony Jaa As Frieza

Recent Roles: Kiet (Furious 7), Chai (Kill Zone 2)

One of the most powerful villains in the Dragon Ball universe played by one of the best martial arts actors in Hollywood, please oh please! Being that Tony is an expert martial artist, I’d love to see him take on the role of a villain, since he’s usually taken on roles of heroic protagonists.

Ki Hong Lee As Gohan

Recent Roles: Minho (Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials)

Lee’s most recognized role has come as Minho in the Maze Runner franchise. He can portray the perfect combination of humor and seriousness as he’s shown in Maze Runner and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. Since I picture a Dragon Ball Z live-action movie adaptation as itself a franchise, then it would be great to see Lee evolve with the character of Gohan as more Dragon Ball Z movies are made.
