It's easy to forget amid the Sad Keanu memes and viral stories (that prove he is one of the nicest people on the planet) that has an acting career to maintain. Following a sharp rise to fame in the early '90s and blockbuster hits in the '00s, Reeves became a household name and a Hollywood A-lister.

Despite starring in hits such as Bill and Ted, Point Break (1991), Speed (1994) and the Matrix trilogy, Reeves acting ability is often overlooked, having become typecast in roles, with his career stagnating slightly as a result.

So to help keep you on top of his anticipated new movie releases, we've made a handy list of the next Keanu Reeves films. From John Wick: Chapter 2 to The Starling, the latest flicks from him should get fans excited for these movies coming out.

1. The Bad Batch

  • Release date: June 23, 2017

  • Cast: Keanu Reeves, Jason Momoa, Jim Carrey

Wait until I tell you about the plot for this film, you won't be able to not watch it. Seriously. Reeves joins Jason Momoa and Jim Carrey in this black comedy about a group of cannibals. It gets better; the dystopian tale set in Texas focuses is actually a love story, and Reeves plays a character called the Dream. It's probably the best film you may not have heard of.

The film is in the reliable hands of director Ana Lily Amirpour is best known for her critically acclaimed debut, the Iranian horror A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night.

2. To The Bone

Who says Reeves isn't versatile?! Following on from dark comedy cannibal flick to more John Wick, the 51-year-old turns to a more serious role in To The Bone, a story about Ellen, a young woman (Lily Collins — that's Phil Collins daughter) who is suffering from anorexia.

Reeves played Dr. William Beckham, an unconventional medical professional who finds a way of helping Ellen embrace life and overcome her illness.

3. John Wick: Chapter 2

  • Cast: Keanu Reeves, Riccardo Scamarcio, Ian McShane

Keanu loves playing characters called John. John Constantine, Johnny Utah, John Rain, Johnny Mnemonic... The list is endless. But the John of all Johns, arguably, is John Wick, the high octane, ass-kicking dog lover who ushered a welcome return to action for Reeves.

Due to the success of the first, it's not surprising to see the former hitman return for Chapter 2. Just where the film will go exactly is unclear, as the first one had a satisfactory story arc, but do we really need an excuse for more of the best John? No, we don't.

4. Replicas

  • Cast: Keanu Reeves, Alice Eve, Thomas Middleditch

Continuing with the darker theme, Replicas tells the story of a "synthetic biologist" who tries to bring back his family after they die in a road traffic accident. It was developed by Reeves and Stephen Hamel's production company, Company Films.

The narrative draws tragic parallels to the death of Reeves' girlfriend, Jennifer Syme, who died in a car crash in 2001, shortly after she gave birth to their stillborn child.

5. Rain (TV Mini-Series)

  • Premiere date: 2017
  • Writer: TBA
  • Cast: Keanu Reeves, Cherry Jones, Corbin Reid

Reeves' is set to star in the leading role as John Rain, a freelance hitman who is skilled in making deaths look like natural accidents. Already adept at portraying those with a licence to kill, John Wick directors Chad Stahelski and David Leitch will team up with Reeves.

The story is based on a series of novels by Barry Eisler, who created the character of John Rain and has used him in eight different stories to date. As exciting as it sounds, there is still no confirmed release date, although it was originally scheduled to be released this year.

6. Siberia

  • Cast: Keanu Reeves, Molly Ringwald, Ana Ularu

7. Rally Car

  • Release date: TBA
  • Director: Olivier Megaton
  • Cast: Keanu Reeves

Although early on in the stage of production, Reeves is linked with the lead role in Rally Car, a story about a former NASCAR driver who takes on a high stakes race across China when his personal life starts unravelling.

Harald Zwart, who directed the Karate Kid remake, will take the helm for the film.

8. Untitled Bill & Ted Project
