Celebrities being stopped for autographs and photos is no new thing, but Stranger Things star, Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin) has started doing something pretty cool every time he's stopped by fans.
Following the success of Stranger Things, Matarazzo has been catapulted into stardom after totally capturing our hearts playing the adorable Dustin. You know, the little dude who totally knew the lunch lady was hoarding chocolate pudding:
Obviously Gaten is loving how much people have embraced the series, and has now started giving thanks to his fans is a pretty sweet way. After posting a photo with a fan earlier this week, Gaten posted the following caption:
I'm starting a new thing. Every fan that stops me and asks me to take a picture with them, I will ask them to take a picture with me because they mean as much to me as I mean to them. This guy was awesome, I couldn't resist having him be in the start of my new trend.
How incredibly sweet! Things got started with this dude:
And before long there was another photo:

And then another:
The 13-year-old also took the time the thank the fans who appeared in pictures with him.
Then there was Derek who recognized Gaten while in an elevator:
And the "super sweet" Doris:
And then when Gaten reunited with his costar Finn Wolfhard (Mike), he joined in on the trend as well:
The pair seem to have been at a restaurant for dinner, but that didn't stop them kindly taking the time to snap some photos:
Given that Gaten has already uploaded seven snaps of himself with fans, something tells me that there's going to be plenty more in coming weeks, and I can't wait to see if any of his other co-stars pick up on the trend as well.
But as adorable as Gaten's new trend is, it's not the only time a celeb has paid tribute to fans for continuing to support them. Here's a small selection of other times a star has taken the time to thank fans:
Back in 2011, actress Mila Kunis was so flattered by Sgt Scott Moore's request that she accompany him to the Marine Corps Ball that she took him up on his offer! Kunis even refused to comment on the evening — which apparently exceeded all expectations — instead allowing Moore to have his time in the spotlight, aww!
Whatever celeb drama she might be currently involved in, there's no denying that Taylor Swift loves her fans. The singer has done countless things for her fans over the years, including donating $50,000 to a fan who had to miss one of her concerts due to cancer.
Selena Gomez frequently thanks her fans for supporting her and allowing her to live her dream.
Cole Sprouse, the former Disney star who will soon appear in The CW's Riverdale, has a number of social media accounts, but none pay tribute to his fans quite like Sprouse Masterwork. The account solely dedicated to posting images of fan art created by the Sprouse fans, and each comes with an in-depth breakdown by Cole. To be honest the account is quite terrifying, but it's nice to see these images have been noticed by the star himself.
