Everybody can recognize John Krasinski from his iconic role as Jim Halpert in the well known TV series The Office. While John has had a whole variety of roles in many different films, we can never forget the times he mimicked and taunted Dwight. Interestingly enough, there was a possibility that John could have been a Marvel superhero too. During the auditions for the role of Steve Rogers in Captain America: The First Avenger, John actually had a chance to steal the show from Chris Evans!
Can you imagine seeing John Krasinski as God's righteous man? John isn't mad that he lost the shield to Evans; he was actually pleased that Evans was cast instead of himself. Then again, who doesn't want to be a part of the Marvel Universe? In that case, John could be secretly holding a grudge against Chris Evans and could've changed his dream role to being a villain instead, as he jokingly stated in an interview with Digital Spy back in January:
"Maybe now I need to play a villain and fight Chris. That’s what we need to do."
John Krasinski is known to be longtime fanboy of Marvel films and wouldn't turn down an opportunity to join Marvel. It's been six years now since Krasinski was beaten out for the role of Captain America. Would he still ever consider becoming a part of Marvel Studios? He answered that question in a recent interview with Collider :
"Absolutely, my whole thing is I’m such a huge fan of the Marvel movies, so if there are any characters left for sure, bang the drum. Just to be in that world, they’re really well-made and they seem like they’re having a lot of fun and I happen to be friends with a whole bunch of those guys and girls, so to me it would be a great time, I’d love it."
As you see, John would still love to be cast in any of Marvel's new films coming out and honestly, Marvel needs to pick him up and throw him in any film they can already. If you look at how well Marvel is doing and how much fun these actors are having on set, John Krasinski would be an awesome addition to Marvel Studios — no matter what character he portrays.
Can you just imagine how the scene below would have played out differently had John Krasinski snagged the role as Cap instead of Evans?
