Pop quiz: you’re flipping through Spotify playlists and Paula Cole’s seminal 1996 hit “I Don’t Want to Wait” comes on. Do you immediately stop and think:
a) Wow, whatever happened to Paula Cole? Such a talent.
b) This used to be my jam but I can’t remember why
c) I NEED TO WATCH DAWSON’S CREEK AGAIN RIGHT NOW AND FEEL ALL THE FEELS
Follow up pop quiz: in that same Spotify playlist, Dionne Warwick’s “I Say A Little Prayer” comes on. Do you immediately stop and think:
a) This is my jam but I can’t remember why
b) Wasn’t Dionne Warwick a psychic or something?
c) WHY DOESN’T ANYONE BREAK OUT INTO SONG FOR ME AND WHERE CAN I FIND MATCHING HATS FOR MY AGGRESSIVELY CHIPPER COUSINS?
If your answer was C to either of those questions then congratulations, you’re correct! It also means you should be coming to our outdoor screening of ‘Dawson’s Creek’ and ‘My Best Friend’s Wedding’ because clearly you’re fans.
If your answer was anything else, don’t feel bad. You just need an education in classic movies and TV. Which means you should also come to our outdoor screening and find out what you’ve been missing.
That’s right. Our penultimate stop on the Hulu Summer Road Trip is touching down in The City of Oaks, Raleigh, NC. If you were wishin’ and a hopin’ for something to do this Labor Day weekend, then swing by the Stephenson Ampitheatre for an episode of the TV show that got everyone of certain age through high school and the movie that reminded everyone of a certain age not to let that special someone get away.
At the screening you’ll also get to enjoy some themed photo opps and grab some free swag, like customized notebooks with our limited edition fan art. Perfect for passing notes in class the following week.
The Hulu Summer Road Trip has been offering TV and film fans the opportunity to attend free outdoor screenings of iconic television shows and movies all summer. For more information about the Raleigh event, check out the Facebook event page and be sure to invite friends. To see where else we’ve been this summer, check out posts from our previous stops.
