Petitions provide a great platform for peoples' voices to be heard. While some of these petitions are genuinely reasonable and agreeable, others are, well, straight-up weird and make no sense whatsoever. Here are 12 silliest petitions made by movie fans:

12. Make A Netflix Show Based Off The Comic-Con Short With Thor And Darryl

Number of supporters: 2500+

Current Status: Open

This petition started just five days ago and was inspired by Marvel’s latest short starring Chris Hemsworth as Thor. The clip shows what he had been up to during the Civil War events. It was incredibly amusing and had me smiling the whole time. Though fans have requested Netflix and other companies to make series based on Avatar, Percy Jackson, etc. in the past, this one’s a little far-fetched. Not only the possibility for such a show is feeble, but if it were to stream, it would most likely fail. To be frank, just for how long can Marvel drag around the idea of Thor living a normal life with Darryl. Maybe somethings are best if left concise and interesting.

11. Have Deadpool Host Saturday Night Live

Number of supporters: 75,500+

Current Status: Open

This one’s not so old either, as fans desperately want Deadpool to appear on SNL. This petition is a little out there due to a couple of reasons. Firstly, Ryan Reynolds’s Deadpool from the Deadpool movie exists in Fox Studios’ X-Men universe and he is seen breaking the fourth wall from within that universe. If he were to leave that universe entirely just do to a live show, it would completely invalidate his unique trait of breaking that wall. Secondly, the Deadpool movie is R-rated because Wade Wilson’s character was made that way. His appearance on SNL wouldn’t be that appealing after he starts cursing and engaging in inappropriate violence on live television.

10. Make A PG-13 Version Of The Deadpool Movie

Number of supporters: 4000+

Current Status: Open

Another Deadpool-related petition demanded a PG-13 version of the 2016 Deadpool movie so that a much younger audience could watch the movie as well. It was made by a mother who asked for a cleaner version of the movie so that her 8-year old son could watch it. The chances of this happening were slim because quite a few R-rated scenes were the essence of the movie. It’s R-rating is one of the reasons behind the movie’s success. The matter was also brought to Ryan Reynolds, who argued that the movie would have been much shorter then.

"I don’t think so. I mean, you saw it. That would be a very short movie. It’s almost a commercial at that point."

Although having a PG-13 version of the movie would have had attracted a wider audience, having two versions of the same film can be harmful for it. Having different outcomes of the same scenario can nullify the uniqueness and distinctness of the original.

9. Remove Zack Snyder From The Justice League Movie and The DCEU

Number of supporters: 17,500+ and 2500+

Current Statuses: Open

These are actually two petitions that almost request the same thing. One petition says to boot Zack Snyder off of the production of the Justice League movie, while the other one demands to remove him completely from the DCEU. The first petition is based on the fact that Zack Snyder has given unsatisfying results as the director of Man of Steel and Batman v Superman. Whereas, the second one says that Zack cannot convey a story effectively. Many fans shared the same feelings for Snyder when Batman v Superman hit cinemas, however they were a bit relieved after the release of the Ultimate Cut. The approval of these petitions was obviously not possible as Batman v Superman had one of the biggest opening weekends in history and Justice League: Part One was set to begin filming shortly afterwards. Removing Zack Snyder then would have had halted the entire production of the film.

8. Remove Ben Affleck As Batman In Batman v Superman

Number of supporters: 97,500+

Current Status: Closed

This petition was started way back in 2013 before we even got to see Ben Affleck as Batman on the big screen. The petition states that Ben Affleck is a bad choice to portray Batman/Bruce Wayne because he wouldn’t be believable or intimidating as Batman. It further said that it would be similar to his “atrocious” portrayal of Daredevil. At that time, this petition was obviously based more on judgement and not at all on facts. Now after Batman v Superman’s release, I believe that Ben’s roles as both Batman and Bruce Wayne themselves show why this petition was of no use.

7. Make A Movie Starring Jack Frost And Elsa

Number of supporters: 10,000+

Current Status: Closed

The petition is based on the fact that Jack Frost from Rise Of The Guardians and Elsa from Frozen share a unique set of abilities and it would be fun to see them together in a crossover movie. The idea may sound interesting at first considering the many reasons the petitioner has given, but it is not quite possible. This is because Rise Of The Guardians is owned by DreamWorks, whereas Frozen is the production of Disney. Though DreamWorks has had movies distributed by Disney for the past six years, a crossover project like this doesn’t stand a chance. After all, since of October 2016, DreamWorks' films are marketed and distributed by Universal Pictures.

6. Put Robin Williams In The Legend Of Zelda

Number of Supporters: 118,000+

Current Status: Closed

This petition is different to some of the other petitions on my list because this one was made simply to honor someone in a unique way. This petition was created on August 11, 2014- the day Robin Williams died. He was an avid player of Legend Of Zelda, and even named her daughter after it. So in order to pay a tribute to him, one fan demanded to name a character after Robin in the next Legend Of Zelda game. Nintendo saw the petition, but didn’t reveal whether it would agree to it or not saying:

"We appreciate the outpouring of support from the gaming community, and hear the request of fans to honor him in a future game. We will not be discussing what might be possible for future games during this difficult time, but we will hold our memories of Robin close."

This petition might not be silly, ridiculous or completely bonkers, but it is weird and odd in its own heart-warming way.

5. Bring G. Lucas Back To The Star Wars Franchise

Number of Supporters: 25,500+

Current Status: Open

Bringing back the father of the Star Wars franchise is what this petition demands. It’s true that George Lucas originated the Star Wars franchise but he also made some mistakes along the way which infuriated fans. Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ success and the trailer for Star Wars: Rogue One suggest that the franchise is better off in new hands. Fans are eagerly awaiting to see more of what can be done with the franchise and bringing G. Lucas back might come in the way of that.

4. Bring Back Beth From The Walking Dead

Number of Supporters: 65,500+

Current Status: Closed

If you recall The Walking’s Dead’s Season 5, Beth Greene dies by being shot in the head. This means that she couldn’t even return as a zombie. However, this petition states that the show gave an untimely death to a potentially good character and she should be revived. It’s true that anything is possible when it comes to television, but the studios would have to come up with a pretty silly excuse in order to revive Beth from the dead. The chances of this happening are far from likely and it would only prove to be bad for the franchise.

3. Legalize Marriage Between Humans And 2-D Cartoons

Number of Supporters: 1000±

Current Status: Closed

In 2008, a Japanese man wished to marry a character from a certain manga. Apparently, the petition cannot be found online however it is speculated to have reached around 1000 supporters. Not to mention a man actually did have a wedding ceremony with a video game character named ‘Nene’ in 2009. The fact that a person wants to marry a fictional character makes this petition extremely weird.

2. Build A Real-Life Jurassic Park

Number of Supporters: 1900+

Current Status: Closed

If you take a look at the petition, you’ll realize that it was clearly made as a joke. It encourages the opening of a park filled with cloned dinosaurs and woolly mammoths as an option. According to the petition, the creation of cloned dinosaurs should be done whatever the cost. The cloning of dinosaurs is obviously not possible. But even if it were, and you want to see the consequences of having a dino park, just go watch anyone of the Jurassic Park movies.

1. Build A Death Star

Number of Supporters: 34,000+

Current Status: Open

This petition is at number one on my list because it is as hilarious as it is ridiculous. Not only the petitioner gained almost 35,000 supporters, but had it sent to the White House. The petition believes that the creation of a Death Star will increase national defense. This proves that die-hard Star Wars fans like me will stop at nothing until they have a real-life Death Star created! Moreover, the response from the White House Administration is as amusing as the petition itself stating:

The Administration shares your desire for job creation and a strong national defense, but a Death Star isn't on the horizon. Here are a few reasons:
• The construction of the Death Star has been estimated to cost more than $850,000,000,000,000,000. We're working hard to reduce the deficit, not expand it.
• The Administration does not support blowing up planets.
• Why would we spend countless taxpayer dollars on a Death Star with a fundamental flaw that can be exploited by a one-man starship?

Fans of different genres have all kinds of opinions about them. Sometimes, these opinions get a little out of hand and result in some weird petitions. But whatever they may be, it always feels good to know what opinions other people have regarding a subject.
