Zach Snyder has joined in the celebration of Batman day, by revealing our first look at J.K. Simmons as the new Commissioner Gordon. Batman's closest ally on the right side of the law is set to make his debut in the new DCEU in 2017's Justice League movie.
Pretty cool, huh? Zach Snyder sure does have an eye for the perfect shot. It also looks like the Bat-Signal has been completely restored after the pounding it took in Batman v. Superman.
J.K. seems to have nailed the look too, opting for a more classical approach to Jim Gordon. It's a different take on Gary Oldman's more 'business Dad' vibe seen in Christopher Nolan's Bat-Trilogy. Simmons is also no stranger playing an iconic character with an iconic look, having famously immortalised the role of fan favorite J. Jonah Jameson in Sam Raimi's trilogy of Spider-Man movies.
Simmons claims his role won't be huge in Justice League, but based on the above photo alone, I'd say it's still worth getting excited for.
Zach Snyder being Zach Snyder, the producer/seducer couldn't resist a cheeky selfie in front of the restored Bat-Signal which he also posted to his twitter feed.
For everything Batman and Justice League, make sure you keep it on Movie Pilot.
