Before we swing by our newest findings check out the bunch we've already gathered in the video below.
Okay, ready? Thwip!
Super Soldier Serum, Dr. Abraham Erskine
Dr. Erskine was the scientist that created the serum that transformed Steve Rogers into #CaptainAmerica in Captain America: The First Avenger.
In the scene where we see a mural of scientists behind Peter, right below Howard Stark’s face we can also see the face of Dr. Erskine (Stanley Tucci).
Hooray to science and the creator of America’s favorite star-spangled hero!
There's Actually Two Shockers, Maybe Three
The international trailer of Spider-Man: Homecoming finally gave us a glimpse at Bokeem Woodbine’s Shocker. However, it appears he might not be the only one. If you look at the image above you can see how Woodbine has only one Shocker gauntlet on his right arm.
Now, if you look at the person next to Donald Glover in the image below, that person has a similar gauntlet on his left arm. Both Woodbine and this other apparent Shocker also seem to be wearing the same Shocker-themed torso attire.
So, what is going on with these Shockers? Both in the comics and in the video game #SpiderMan, Shocker has had henchmen who have adopted his yellow costume.
This begs the question, as stated by Nerdist’s Jessica Chobot: Is Donald Glover portraying the real Shocker? Could it be that after these the two Shockers fall, Glover will then don both gauntlets?
Identity Theft? We Have You Covered.
While this is more of a comic element than an Easter Egg, in the very first scene where the fake #Avengers are robbing Queens Community Bank, directly behind Spider-Man you can see the poster of a corporate individual. Right above his head is the phrase:
Identity theft? We have you covered.
The phrase is a fun nod to the scene itself. The robbers have stolen the identity of the Avengers and who has the Avengers covered from such theft? You guessed it, Spider-Man.
This can tie into several things, but if there’s one event where Spider-Man definitely had the Avengers covered, it was during Civil War.
Heck, this is a stretch, but could it also be an Easter Egg for Helmut Zemo and his Thunderbolts? The Thunderbolts, a group of villains-turned-heroes, did kind of steal the Avenger’s identity in the comics.
You can find these Easter Eggs and many more in the latest trailers of Spider-Man: Homecoming! But what do you think? Is Donald Glover playing the real Shocker and is there something more to the "identity theft" Easter Egg? Let me know in the comments!
