Resident Evil has come a long way from the adorable-but-hardly-lifelike CGI of PlayStation circa 1996. The adapted film franchise — loosely based on the popular video game series — has produced five zombie-blasting explosive feature films, kicking off with Resident Evil in 2002.
Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end, and as the name suggests, #ResidentEvilTheFinalChapter is the concluding chapter of the battle between the T-virus-producing Umbrella Corporation and ass-kicking Alice (Milla Jovovich), an ex-employee intent on defeating the organization and saving humanity.
Picking up where 2012's Resident Evil: Retribution left off, Paul W. S. Anderson's final installment is guaranteed to be as thrilling as it is chilling. Ahead of its January release, to whet our appetites for apocalyptic mayhem Movie Pilot is taking an exclusive look at some of the key characters.
Ali Larter — Claire Redfield
Claire Redfield is one of the most popular characters in the #ResidentEvil franchise, having appeared in numerous video games. In live action, she made her first appearance in Resident Evil: Extinction (2007), in which she led a group of zombie apocalypse survivors, followed by Resident Evil: Afterlife (2010).
The tenacious survivor was kidnapped by the Umbrella Corporation at the end of Afterlife, resulting in her absence from Retribution. The mystery of what happened to her will play a big part in the narrative of The Final Chapter. Will she be rescued? Or rise like a zombie-hating phoenix to help fight alongside the team?
William Levy — Christian
The tough, no-nonsense newcomer makes his Resident Evil debut, joining with Alice and the rest of the group as they return to Raccoon City where it all began. Another skilled survivor who managed to avoid the T-virus pandemic, Christian is mistrustful of others, which makes him reluctant to put his life on the line for those he doesn't know. Expect some tension between Christian and group leader Alice. After all, if you're trying to save humanity, you might need to rely on others.
Milla Jovovich — Alice
It'd be impossible to have a Resident Evil film without Alice, the main protagonist of the series and one of the most inspired heroines in both #action and #horror. Returning for her sixth feature, Alice must make a final attempt to save humanity after being betrayed by Umbrella leader Albert Wesker at the end of the last film.
For her final outing, Alice will have to return to the barren wasteland of Raccoon City and challenge the Umbrella Corporation head-on as it attempts to wipe out the remaining survivors.
Ruby Rose — Abigail
Another character making her debut, Abigail is played by Ruby Rose. A fierce combatant who joins Alice on her deadly mission, with such a determined nature and desire to live, can Alice trust the newcomer to stay loyal when things get tough?

Iain Glen — Dr. Alexander Isaacs
Game of Thrones star Iain Glen leaves the small screen to return as Dr. Alexander Isaacs, an Umbrella Corporation scientist who has appeared in Resident Evil: Apocalypse (2004), and was the main enemy in Extinction.
Alice has every right to bear a grudge against Isaacs; he was the head scientist on the project that used her as a guinea pig. As someone who believes strongly in his work, Isaacs is willing to sacrifice anything to find a cure for the T-virus.
However, he was believed to be dead in Extinction; will he return from the grave? Or could it be that the Isaacs killed was, in fact, a clone?
