Fans looking forward to the next installment in the Halloween franchise may have even more to get excited about: Original Halloween maestro John Carpenter may be expanding his role in the next movie.

Blumhouse bigwig Jason Blum mentioned in a Facebook Live video that Carpenter will executive produce the next movie, but will hopefully add his trademark signature tunes:

"John Carpenter is our executive producer. I also am hoping he’s going to do the music for the movie. The deal isn’t done, but I’m a good negotiator."

John Carpenter hasn't been involved with the Halloween franchise since 1982 (Halloween 3: Season of the Witch) and it'll be cool to see him back on the team. Let's hope that his iconic sounds will be a part of Miramax and Blumhouse's new Halloween venture.

Will the new 'Halloween' reboot be good?
